RALEIGH, N.C. -- Sam Reinhart sustained a lower-body injury for the Florida Panthers in a 5-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final at Lenovo Center on Thursday.

"We'll get him looked at tomorrow," Panthers coach Paul Maurice said. "So, Saturday I'll have something (an update) for you."

While carrying the puck into the offensive zone on a power play, Reinhart took the brunt of an open-ice hip check from Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho at 14:49 of the first period. He went rolling into the boards and came back to the bench wincing in pain.

It appeared that he was favoring his left hip or leg.

Reinhart returned for one 12-second shift before the first period ended but did not come back out for the start of the second.

He played 5:37 in eight shifts in the first period.

Reinhart has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 14 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He had 81 points (39 goals, 42 assists) in 79 regular-season games.

Hurricanes defenseman Sean Walker did not return for the third period after taking a big open-ice hit from Panthers forward A.J. Greer in the second period. Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour said he had no update on Walker.

In addition, Carolina forward Seth Jarvis didn't play the last 8:05 of the game. He went to the Hurricanes dressing room earlier in the third period after taking another big hit from Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola.

Brind'Amour also said he had no update on Jarvis.

"I haven't even seen those guys, so we'll see," Brind'Amour said.

Carolina defenseman Jalen Chatfield also missed his third consecutive game with an undisclosed injury. Chatfield skated in pregame warmups and took rushes with regular defense partner Dmitry Orlov, but Brind'Amour said he knew after warmups that Chatfield wasn't going to play.

Rookie defenseman Scott Morrow played his second straight game in Chatfield's place.
